DEVELOP A BURNING DESIRE FOR SUCCESS™

Your capacity to develop a burning desire for success is one of the major requirements for achieving success. You can hardly achieve anything in this life if you don’t have the desire for it. Remember success don’t just happen, you must make it happen and without desire, when you meet obstacles you can easily give up.

The major reasons why a lot of people give up on their dreams when confronted by temporary setbacks is that they lack the desire to go after their dreams. Nothing stands in the way of the person who has a burning desire to fulfill his/her dreams. God made man in such a way that whenever anything fires his soul, the world impossible vanishes from his mental faculty.

When you have a strong desire for success, you will definitely go far in your career; you would want to aspire higher in life, you will find yourself pushing harder to get the things you want from life. The truth is that if you have developed a strong desire for anything, you will never need anybody to force you to start. Desire is the fuel we need to get going in life en-route to success unlimited. It creates a fire of motivation that can never be put off.

I remember when I was in junior secondary school; I loved Engineering, Mechanical Engineering to be specific. I worked hard to do sciences in senior secondary school and also to pass my science subjects. My desire for Mechanical engineering grew stronger anytime I watched documentary on Engineering. I made up my mind to study Mechanical Engineering at all cost and the first admission I got was for Computer Science, I decided to wait for a year. My desire paid off because the following year I was admitted to study mechanical engineering and I graduated as a mechanical engineer after five years.

When you have a burning desire for anything, delays will mean nothing to you. Desire has a way of instilling patience and hope in someone. It makes you see nothing but your target. It will help your mind to fashion out ways to hit your target. You can afford to spend your last penny to get what you truly desire.

I observed that when you develop a strong desire for anything, after sometimes, it will get to a point where your desire will decide the direction that your life will go. Desire has the power to move you towards any direction in life. When you develop a desire for positive things, you will get it, so also if you develop desire for negative thing you will also get it.

Have you been finding it difficult to achieve anything in life? If yes, then develop a burning desire for the fulfillment of your set goals and you will see how far you will get. Nobody can do that for you. You must do it yourself if indeed you want to become successful in life because your lack of desire will never make you successful.

You can develop a burning desire for anything if you can visualize the thing for a long time until it becomes registered in your mind. What you look at the longest becomes the strongest in your mind and in essence, it becomes your desire. Your confession can also help you to develop a burning desire for anything. Dr. Emile Coue a French Psychologist proved that repeated affirmations have a profound effect on human behavior and actions.

Another process that can assist you to develop a burning desire for anything is concentration. When you concentrate on the fulfillment of a particular goal for a long time, it will get to a stage whereby your desire for it will become so strong that you would not want to do anything until you achieve the goal.

If you truly want to fulfill your wildest dreams in life, then you must develop a burning desire for it. Desire has a way of fulfilling its self.

En-route success unlimited™, we know that;

“Nothing stops the man who desires to achieve. Every obstacle is simply a course to develop his achievement muscle. It's a strengthening of his powers of accomplishment”
-          Eric Butterworth.

“You can have anything you want--if you want it badly enough. You can be anything you want to be, do anything you set out to accomplish if you hold to that desire with singleness of purpose”
-          William Adams.

THE COAT OF MANY COLOURS™

“A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks he becomes”.
                 -  Mahatma Gandhi

Until recently we didn’t begin to understand the effect of a child’s growing up on him, thanks to Pediatric Psychologists. By omission or commission Jacob who was Joseph’s father had spent seventeen years programming his son for success. The coat of many colours made for him was worn by princes and princesses. Joseph grew up mimicking princes for life in the palace. No wonder he ended up there.
Your growing up years prepared you for your future. Whether positively or negatively, your experiences and exposures – affluence and royalty or was it deprivation and mediocrity   fashion you for today’s manifestations.
Begin to consciously do things, go to places and associate with people who will program your mind for promotion and enlargement. He that walks with the wise shall be wise so, make deliberate efforts to walk with corporate executives. Seek out mentors and friends in them, hang around them and you will find yourself begin to attract the same fortunes like they are.
It’s really all about your attraction – you attract what you are and you are what you imbibe. Deliberately expose your mind to life changing books, seminars, courses and conferences – they’ll improve the quality of your mind. Before you know it you are attracting a better quality and a higher value to your life. Keep this in mind, it’s the things you do to improve your heart and mind outside of your work hours that add more to your career, than the routine eight hours you put into doing the job.

INSPIRATION
The Trees That Wood
Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree said, "Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the beauty."
Then the second tree said, "Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull."
Finally the third tree said, "I want to grow to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember me."
After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree he said, "This looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter" ... and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest.
At the second tree a woodsman said, "This looks like a strong tree, I should be able to sell it to the shipyard." The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship.
When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come true. One of the woodsmen said, "I don't need anything special from my tree so I'll take this one", and he cut it down.
When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was not at all what he had prayed for. The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end. The third tree was cut into large pieces and left alone in the dark. The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams.
Then one day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time. Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and he stood and said "Peace" and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat.
Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it.
Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined. We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are always best.

“Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors”.

JUST A LITTLE KINDNESS™

Life they say is lived by principles and every turning point has a reference point. The little kindness that you do today may likely turn out to be the major breakthrough that you need tomorrow.

Whether you believe it or not your past kindness will always go ahead of you to reward you. The pass, the present and even the future are inter-woven to produce success.

If you desire success in life, you must be willing to sometimes go the extra mile to show kindness to who ever needs it even if they don’t deserve it. When you begin to do this, you will invest into your future.

Remember whatever a man sows today, he will reap tomorrow; if you sow kindness in form of a seed in the heart of men today, you certainly will reap kindness that has grown into fruits from men tomorrow.

It has been proven times without numbers that one of the surest ways to achieve your own success in life is by helping others to achieve theirs. When you help people to accomplish any task or assist them to rise to a position in life, even if they don’t appreciate you, you would have succeeded in boosting your ego. It helps you feel good because you know that you’ve done something worthwhile in the life of someone.

Think of it this way; what do you have that you think you can use as a form of kindness? It doesn’t necessarily need to be money. It might just be sincerity of heart and a strong desire to be of genuine service. John Bunyan once said that “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”

Kindness could be helping the aged and the blind to cross the road. It could be a volunteer service to help the less privilege. It could be a smile to the depressed. It could be offering a lift to someone. It could be paying someone’s bus fare. It could be paying someone’s school fees. It could be virtually anything as long as it will bring relief to someone.

Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person’s life for better or for worse. God puts us all in each others live to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others.

Remember, the very next person that comes across your way today may be the one who can aid and accelerate your speed en-route to success unlimited – so don’t stop been kind to people around you.

What you get is determined by what you give. The only way to get a lot of people to always remember you and to always include you in their prayers is to sow kindness into their lives. If you touch someone’s heart, he will hardly forget you.

Be willing to do the little things that can make the big difference in people’s life. You have all it takes to do it. Ben Sweetland was right when he said “We cannot hold a torch to light another’s path without brightening our own.”

En-route to success unlimited, we know that;

“The greatest investment you can make is not with money, but with yourself. If you give yourself unselfishly to others, eventually it returns to you with interest like bread upon the waters.”
-          Dr. Paul Yonggi Cho

"You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of this world's happiness now. How? By giving a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely or discouraged. Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime."

INSPIRE OTHERS TO SUCCESS™

Here is the story of a man, his name is Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog.

There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.
The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.
"I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life." "No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer replied waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel. "Is that your son?" the nobleman asked. "Yes," the farmer replied proudly.
"I'll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of education my own son will enjoy. If the lad is anything like his father, he'll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of." And that he did.

Farmer Fleming's son attended the very best schools and in time,
graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.
Years afterward, the same nobleman's son who was saved from the bog was stricken with pneumonia. What saved his life this time? Penicillin.
The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill. His son's name? Sir Winston Churchill.
Success is like a chain reaction; it starts with a single act of inspiration and goes on and on. Be willing to spark off a chain reaction of inspiration, because you never can tell who you will inspire today. The person you inspire today may become the stepping stone to the highest level of success you can attain tomorrow. Remember what goes around comes around.
Statistics shows that over a life time, the average person directly or indirectly influences 10,000 people either for good or for bad. You must realize that to attain high level success, you should learn how to inspire people around you.
Successful people are just ordinary folks who developed belief in themselves and serve as a source of inspiration to others. Influence begins with you and ripples outwards, so let it be listed as part of your daily goals to inspire atleast one person a day.
If it’s your aim to motivate and inspire people, then you should know that success is not far from you. Remember, the things that you do for yourself will be gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others will remain as your legacy.

En-route success unlimited™, we know that;
"Motivation is everything. You can do the work of two people, but you can't be two people. Instead, you have to inspire the next guy down the line and get him to inspire his people."
                                                                 -Lido Anthony “lee” Lacocca

"The best way to inspire people to superior performance is to convince them by everything you do and by your everyday attitude that you are wholeheartedly supporting them."

THE WORLD IS LOOKING FOR PROBLEM SOLVERS™

Every problem has a reward attached to it. The more problem you solve the more successful you will become. The world is not looking for people that will add to the existing problem that we have, the world is actually looking for people who can solve the problem on ground.

Our success lies on the number of problems we can solve for humanity. Right from the inception of creation, men has always strived to solve problems, and it has resulted to the success that they have.

It will be very unwise for us to deny the fact that problems exist in our world today. So in essence we don’t need to look for success else where, all what we need to do if we want success is to pick a problem that we feel we have strong passion for and then put in all we’ve got to solve it. Some people take all there life time in solving major problems in the world, and once they come out with a solution, aside from the fact that they become successful, their names are always written in the world’s history books.

We have Political problems, we have Social problems, we have Spiritual problems, we have Psychological problems, we have Health problems and we have all sorts of problems that exist in our world today. The world is tired of problems; the world is looking for solutions.

If you take your time to solve peoples emotional problems you will sure be rewarded, if you take your time to solve peoples spiritual problems, just like most pastors have been doing, you will sure be rewarded, if you take your time to solve peoples shelter problems, you will sure be rewarded, if you take your time to solve peoples health problems, you will sure be rewarded.

Henry Ford took his time to solve the problem of transportation; he made cars that were affordable for the average American. Wilbur and Orville Wright were not left out, they brought major respite to transportation problems, today the world will not forget their names in a jiffy. Bill Graham is notable for solving spiritual problems, he’s known as one of the greatest Evangelist that has trailed this earth.

When Malaria was the major killer in Africa and the world at large, someone dedicated his life in finding a solution; he came up with a drug that could cure malaria. Today malaria is no longer a major killer disease. Someone discovered the vaccine that could be used to checkmate polio. Today polio is on the decline.

Someone chooses to solve the problem of nakedness that is why you are putting on clothes today, even designers’ clothes. Someone chooses to solve the problem of shelter, no wonder man moved from caves to castles. Someone chooses to solve the problems of ignorance, no wonder we have schools all around us today. Someone chooses to solve the problem of darkness, no wonder we have electricity today.

The advent of computers brought solutions to a lot of problems; the advent of Banks brought solutions to a lot of problems, the advent of Satellites brought solutions to a lot of problems. The world enjoys solutions, the world celebrates problem solvers.

Make up your mind to solve a problem today, because every problem has the potential to lunch you into fame and fortune.

En-route to success unlimited, we know that;

"We are built to conquer environment, solve problems, achieve goals, and we find no real satisfaction or happiness in life without obstacles to conquer and goals to achieve."
                                                                               - Maxwell Maltz

“Just because the solutions of problems are not visible at any particular time does not mean that those problems will never be alleviated—or confined to tolerable dimensions. History has a way of changing the very terms in which problems operate and of leaving them, in the end, unsolved, to be sure, yet strangely deflated of their original meaning and importance”
                                                                             - M. I. Abramowitz

CONSCIOUSLY ACQUIRE KNWOLEDGE™

How often in our lives have we absolutely known that something was certain, only to later realize that we are wrong?

 Success requires knowledge, so if you want to succeed, you must be willingly to consciously acquire knowledge, never to live in the mediocre paradise of assumption. Someone once said that assumption is the lowest level of knowledge.

 The Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary defines Knowledge as “The information, understanding and skills that you gain through education or experience” or “The state of knowing about a particular fact or situation.”

 With the above definitions, it is obvious that knowledge is an essential tool for success. It is of practical value to learn about ourselves, other people and the world in general.

 One of the key to success unlimited is developing a sense of certainty that success of whatsoever kind is achievable based on the knowledge that you have about the particular subject.

 Knowledge will help you to expand as a person and make you take the necessary action to make your life and the lives of people around you to be worth living. When you have knowledge you have confidence.

 Do you know where you’re going? If you don’t have knowledge of where you want to go in life or what you want to acquire, then the probability is that you’ll end up going no where! You can not get to the airports, seaport, and bus terminus or rail station without having a prior knowledge of where you want to go! Nobody will welcome you in.

 Not everybody choose consciously to be a failure, but that’s where they end up. Once you take the initiative to develop your knowledge base, you will be geared up for success.

 Napoleon Hill once said that “Most people condemn themselves to prison all their lives, despite the fact that they carry the keys to their prison without knowing that they possess them.” Knowledge is the key that can unlock your potentials.

 Knowledge is what gives birth to every move on this earth. Every invention is a function of new knowledge. It is a lot easier to succeed when you have a knowledge of who you are, where you are, what you want, and where you are going.

 Remember, knowledge is power! Knowledge is light! And ignorance is not an excuse in the law court.

En-route to success unlimited, we know that;

 “It is time to seek to expand our knowledge base, so we can expand our success rate. It takes knowledge to make any calling a reality.”

-          Bishop David Oyedepo

“The person who stops studying merely because he has finished school is forever hopelessly doomed to mediocrity, no matter what may be his calling…the way of success is the way of continuous pursuit of knowledge.”

                                                               - Napoleon Hill

YOUR HABITS CAN LEAD YOU TO SUCCESS™

Our habits have all what it takes to pull us towards success or towards failures. Habit is just anything that you do often and in most cases you do it unconsciously. Just as there are successful habits, there are unsuccessful habits as well. The success that we have and the failures that come our way is as a result of the habits we have formed overtime.

We are not born with habits, God gave humanity the entire privilege to create their own their habits, all the habits we have today are all learned. This is how habits are formed. Most of the thoughts that occupy our mind tend to influence our decisions, and it’s our decisions that determine our actions. And any action you do repeatedly with time, it will eventually turn out to become your habits. And your habits pull you towards success or towards failures.

Orison Swett Marden says “The beginning of a habit is like an invisible thread, but every time we repeat the act we strengthen the strand, add to it another filament, until it becomes a great cable and binds us irrevocably.” The truth is that we first form our habits and later our habits take charge of our lives. Habits are powerful, they reflects what is in our minds.

When you do something everyday, it becomes your habit either good or bad. So you must consciously select the thoughts that dwells in your mind. Because before you know it, it will become a habit. And habits can be the best servants or the worst master. You can direct your habits or your habits can direct you.

Most of the successful people  you have seen and heard of took their time to build successful habits. One of American’s notable inventors George Washington Carver says “Ninety-Nine percent of the failures come from people that have the habits of making excuses” come to think of it, he is saying the truth.

A good habit or a bad habit is a matter of choice. Remember it takes twenty one days to form any habit. If you want to form any habit, repeat an act for twenty one days and it will sure become your habit. If you want to develop the habit of reading, set out some hours of everyday to read, do it continuously for twenty one days, it might be difficult initially, but keep doing it, after twenty one days, you will no longer force yourself to read.  If you want to be doing twenty sit ups and press ups everyday, do it for twenty one days and after twenty one days you will find yourself doing it without much stress.

Smoking is one very strong bad habit that a lot of people finds difficult to leave. If indeed you want to stop smoking, discipline yourself to steer clear from cigarettes for twenty one days, I know it’s going to be difficult, just do it. After twenty one days, you would have succeeded in dropping the habit of smoking. It’s applicable to any habits whether good or bad.

Well I will still advice that if you want to stop any habit; you must be willingly to substitute it with another habit that you would want to imbibe into your lifestyle. It works and it can work for you as well. Remember you can only hold one thought at a time in your mind either positive or negative. This is Julienne Berk’s view “Habits…the only reason they persist is that they are offering some satisfaction...You allow them to persist by not seeking any other, better form of satisfying the same needs. Every habit, good or bad, is acquired and learned in the same way - by finding that it is a means of satisfaction”

Your habit is your second nature. Success requires that you make good habits your second nature. Make up your mind to build good habits, go through the process of twenty one days. The process has the credentials to help you build good habits. Never allow negative habits ruin your present and your future. Remember it will take you twenty one days of discipline to start seeing consistent changes in the way you think and act. But I know it will be worth it.

En-route to success unlimited, we know that;

“We are what we repeatedly do; Excellence is therefore not an act but a habit.”
                                                                                     - Aristotle.

“Choose the life that is most useful, and Habit will make it the most agreeable.”
                                                                                     - Sir Francis Bacon

USE WHAT YOU HAVE™

There was once a young graduate who went from office to office in search for job. He did all he could do but still could not secure a job for himself. He came home one night after all the stress he had passed through during the day to think of how he can survive.

Strolling through the streets in his neighborhood, he observed that since there is no power supply a lot of people resign to the use of candles to produce illumination for themselves.

A thought prompt up from his mind “what if you start supplying candles in this neighborhood to people who sell candles? “ he quickly engaged his mental faculty and starts thinking of how to develop the idea.

He came up with an action plan. He prepared a questionnaire and distributed it to the people that sell candles in his neighborhood. In the questionnaire, he asked if they will want him to supply candles for them at a price less than they would get in the market.

The marketers agreed with him. Instead of spending transport to go buy candles, they would rather spend just the cost of the carton of candles they want.

The young graduate went to see the wholesale distributor of candles and made a deal with him, he gets the candles at a very cheaper rate, sells it to the retailers and makes his profits.

He did it for a while and realized that it was a brisk business and he could actually become rich from it, he quickly made enquiry on how to manufacture candles and later went ahead to establish his own candle factory with the money he made from supplying candles.

Today he is very wealthy and has become one of the major distributors of candle in his country.

Tough challenges, failures, and even disappointments can help you realize the only option left – what you have in your hands. The fact is that if you want to succeed in life, you must learn to make use of what you have now! Not what you intend to get later.

Never build your life based on what you intend to achieve, but rather build your life acknowledging and developing the potentials that you have now.

Have you ever found yourself in a condition where you it seems as if you have nothing left to aid your success? Think again before giving up. There’ll always be something in you that can produce outstanding result if properly harnessed.

God did not import or invent any special tool or machine before telling Moses to divide the red sea, but rather He made use of what was in Moses hand, a rod. “But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” – Exodus 14:16

Stop complaining of what you don’t have, but rather start making use of what you have in your hands. That is where success starts from.

En-route to success unlimited, we know that;

“A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him.”
-          Richard Nixon

Prosperity depends more on wanting what you have than having what you want.”
